About

Why Abilon exists

Most people who study a language for years still freeze when a waiter asks them a question. Abilon was built for that moment.

Abilon started in Turin, Italy, inside the NextoEdu accelerator, with a simple observation: you remember the words you needed, not the words you were told to memorise. So instead of lists, Abilon gives you a trip. You land in a city, and every scene teaches exactly what that moment asks of you, then puts you in a conversation with someone who talks back.

The characters are live AI, but the stories, the illustrations and the voices are made by people. Every line is recorded by native speakers. Every scene is drawn. The app is built by a very small team in Italy that has gone through the same fear of speaking you have.

Four languages today: French, Italian, Spanish and German. More cities are on the way.
